Sponsored Walk for Help for Heroes
Charitable Fundraising effort by children in Nursery to Year 8 Monday 26 April 2010On the first day of term the whole of St Aubyns (apart from Year 6, then on their Isle of Wight trip) walked or ran in a fundraising effort for Help
for Heroes. Year 6 completed the walk on Friday 23rd April. In the Autumn Term we had been visited by Mr Roger Morgan-Grenville, a St Aubyns Old Boy and a founding fundraiser for the charity; Mr Morgan-Grenville had inspired the children with a desire to assist H4H in the development projects at Headley Court and this sponsored event was their opportunity.
Most of the school walked or ran from Rottingdean to Brighton Marina and back, Years 1 and 2 made the journey to Saltdean and back, while Nursery and Reception completed circuits of the school playing fields. For all there was effort and commitment involved and a good spirit prevailed as the distance was completed.
We look forward to being able to present Mr Morgan-Grenville with a significant gift towards the excellent work of Help for Heroes later this term.
