Colts earn second trophy in three days Friday 25 September 2009

On Saturday 19th September a tournament of four teams, two from St Aubyns and one from each of Lewes Old Grammar School and Dorset House, took place at St Aubyns. A large number of spectators watched some well-fought games resulting in St Aubyns A team gaining the trophy with two wins and a draw and not a sigle goal conceded.

This was followed on Monday 14th September by a much larger tournament of 24 teams from across the south east of England. St Aubyns came top of their pool of six teams with five straight wins. The boys followed this with a 2-0 quarter-final victory against St Andrew's, Eastbourne and then defeated Holmewood House 1-0 in the semi-final. The final against Copthorne was closely contested with the score at 1-1 until the final minutes. Copthorne sneaked a winner, but the St Aubyns squad were justly proud of their individual and school Runners-up trophies. The defensive record of only three goals conceded in eight games was remarkable as were the performances of leading scorer Kofi Joseph-Buadi.
