Girls enjoy first matches on new court
A win and a draw for St Aubyns on new netball court Thursday 10 September 2009Over the summer holidays a new hard court for netball and tennis was installed. This was very generously funded by a donation from a former pupil (who was also formerly Chairman of Governors).
The girls have already begun to benefit from this new facility in practice sessions. On Wednesday 9th September the court was used for the first time in fixtures against Fonthill. For some of the Under 9s this was the first netball match they had played and the girls rose to the
occasion wonderfully. The Under 9 match ended in a 1-1 draw with St Aubyns coming from behind to secure the result. In the Under 11 match St Aubyns also came back from a weaker start and achieved a 5-4 victory.
This was an excellent afternoon of sport and an auspicious start of the court's competitive use.
