Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Prep School Show a triumph Monday 16 March 2009St Aubyns children triumphed again in this year's Prep School production of Charlie and Chocolate Factory with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week. The strong cast of 40 have been rehearsing all term and were well and truly supported by the reliable backstage, lighting and sound crews. The set was well-designed, the props effective and the back drop beautifully painted by Mrs McCrystal.
Some highlights for me were:
The colourful, quircky and original Oompa Lompas with their comical songs.
Violet Beauregard's phenominal performance as the gum chewing, loud mouthed American brat.
The energetic, innovative and outstanding Willy Wonka, who kept the pace of the show fast and added many of his own imaginative ideas.
The reliable and confident Grandpa Joe and Charlie Bucket who worked so well together and gave depth to their characters.
Mr Salt, who gave a faultless performance and kept us thoroughly engaged.
Thank you to all the parents who helped with costumes, make up and props. We couldn't have done it without you.
Finally, thank you to the children who put alot of hard work into the show. You made me very proud. Well done!
