Cottesmore Chess Congress Success
Chess Friday 13 March 2009 Ben Keeling, David McKenna and George Richenberg all went to the Cottesmore Chess Congress on Tuesday, 10th March. They each had six rounds and the scoring was 1 for a win, 1/2 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The maximum score for a team was therefore 18 points and by the end of the day the St. Aubyns team had scored 10, with David top scoring for our team with 4 points out of a possible 6, beating an England player in the Second Round, for good measure. The team total of 10 put us in third position overall, our best result for many years. Congratulations to the team, and our thanks go to Mrs McKenna for providing transport.
