Soirée Française Promotes Language Learning!
Friday 17 October 2008
The 13th and 14th October 2008 saw the 8th Soirée Française in the Drama Studio at St Aubyns. In the tradition of past Soirées, children from Years 5 to 8 performed a variety of sketches, songs and plays to an exceptionally high standard. This year, a larger number of pupils elected to take on speaking roles, which they delivered with both confidence and accuracy. They interpreted their parts with skill and individuality and kept the audience entertained throughout. In addition, both the technical and backstage teams showed maturity and independence.
Great progress has been made in language learning throughout our preparations and the smiles and enthusiasm of the children are testimony to this!
Our wide range of props included a Tardis and a Dalek and the audience was subjected to visits from a Cyberman!
Well done to everyone who took part – you were great fun to work with and we were proud of you all!
