Jeans for Genes Day

 Jeans for Genes Day

Last Friday was a hugely enjoyable and successful occasion as the whole school set about raising as much money as possible for children with genetic disorders. Two days earlier a Year 6 form had delivered an assembly highlighting the idea behind Jeans for Genes. Everybody came to school wearing jeans or other garments made out of denim and some went even further by wearing brightly coloured wigs, jewellery and face paints.

At break time each form set up a stall in the Sports Hall. Attractions ranged from Treasure Maps to a Nail Studio, Lucky Dip, Bring and Buy, Darts Games, Basketball Games, Football Games, a Cake Stall, Guess the Number Competitions and much more.

There was a tremendous atmosphere as the children set about their fund raising activities with determination and a great sense of fun.  We were all delighted when, after Year 8 had counted the money up, we found that a total of over £544 had been raised.  Well done and thank you, everybody.
