St Aubyns Outstanding Nursery Inspection

On Friday 6th June the Nursery at St Aubyns was inspected by Ofsted. An ordinary day in the Nursery was watched and the paperwork reviewed, and the inspector admitted to being bowled over by what he saw.

The report has now been published and the highest possible judgement of ‘Outstanding’ was given to every area of provision. Teaching and learning, partnership with parents and leadership and management were all rated as of the highest standard. The school is very proud of the work that Mrs Sams, Head of Pre-Prep, and Mrs Poulter, Head of Nursery, and their team do, and it is wonderful to have received this official commendation of the excellence of their work.

After this inspection and due to popular demand the St Aubyns Nursery has moved over the summer to a new site within the school's eleven acre campus. This will give more space to the Nursery children as well as providing them with their own outdoor play area.

The new venue consists of  two spacious classrooms and a large welcoming entrance lobby that have all been redecorated in vibrant tones to provide an inviting  environment for the children to flourish. The Nursery children will also benefit greatly from their own designated outside space which is full of exciting equipment and opportunities for the children to extend their learning beyond the classroom.

In addition to the move and redecoration the children will benefit from a whole range of new resources and equipment  to enhance their progression in all six of the areas of learning.

An exciting year is ahead of us, please come and visit with your child and share in the unique experience that we offer.
