Blustering Winds and Bags of Goals at St Aubyns!

Thursday 11 September 2008

A great start to the season for the St Aubyns soccer superstars led by Oli Graves and vice-captained by Nick Wright. The First Team got off to an inauspicious start against a very large team from St.Christopher’s who looked very much like rugby players! Despite having the vast majority of possession in the first half we went down 1-0 after a speculative shot by the opposition caught our goalkeeper off his line. During the first half we often gave away possession too cheaply with long balls and there was a general reluctance among the senior players to take our opponents on…

St Aubyns Topple Tournament Winners

Monday 15 September 2008

St Aubyns first team continued their winning ways against a side from Hursterpoint full of confidence from winning the recent Ardingly Tournament. Our goal was to make a robust start, try to catch our visitors in the early stages of the game and avoid conceding an early goal as we had done the previous week. We had a dream start within the space of two minutes with our striker Max Ettinger, who is improving with every game, burying the ball in the back of the net after a perfectly weighted corner from Nick Wright. This early success was followed with goals from Savious Ndau, Nick Wright and one from Charlie Marshall which came by way of a crisply stuck volley…
