Boarding
St Aubyns is essentially a Monday to Friday day school, but it has a small yet thriving boarding unit of 30 beds.
We offer flexi-boarding to suit individual family needs. Some children board from Sunday evening until Friday evening, others board for two or three nights each week and some just “book in” for a night or two every so often.
There is a resident team of Boarding Housemaster, Matron and Headmaster, assisted by other teachers who live away from the campus.
Small numbers mean that the whole unit can be organized relatively informally, thereby creating a relaxed, family atmosphere.
Pleasantly decorated and central-heated dorms containing between four and six beds are personalised by the children’s own soft toys, posters and family photographs.
In the evenings children enjoy many of the school facilities and often invent their own games around the seaside garden campus or head to the Common Room for snacks, stories and board games.
Children moving on to a senior boarding school should gain at least some boarding experience before moving on - two or three consecutive nights for a few weeks is recommended as a minimum.
